STATUS
These Conditions apply to any order placed with ATLAS & I. You must read these conditions carefully. By placing an order for one or more products through the website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree to these conditions in their entirety, you must not order any product through the website.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND AVAILABILITY
Each product purchased is sold subject to its product description. We take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions, and prices of products appearing on the website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. Although we aim to keep the website as up to date as possible, the information including product descriptions appearing on this website at a particular time may not always reflect the position exactly at the moment you place an order.
All reasonable efforts have been made to portray product(s) on the website accurately, but due to the bespoke nature of our product(s), variations will occur. All measurements are approximate, colour representation and reproduction are dependent upon publishing processes and the set-up of the device from which you are viewing the Website.
All product(s) featured on the website are subject to availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if the product(s) that you have ordered is not available.
MAPS AND COPYRIGHT
All the maps we use on our products are licensed by The National Library of Scotland, The Cartography Associates, and MapTiler. We have full permission to use these maps on all of our products. The original antique maps have been scanned and georeferenced so that the digital image of the map can be linked to the relevant place or postcode on a modern day google map. We use maps dated from 1800 to the modern day, so please be aware that modern place names or areas of interest such as sports grounds or universities are not always marked on vintage maps. Our international maps are taken from antique atlases and may show historical place names or territories that do not exist today. We cannot be responsible for political, religious, or territorial persuasions.
Our map search facility enables you to view all the relevant antique maps that we hold of your requested place or postcode in our database. By choosing your relevant map and confirming you are happy to place your order you have viewed and confirmed you are happy with the exact map that will be used on your product.
Please be aware that colouration and texture of the maps may change when printed onto your final product. For instance, the printing process used for our glass worktop savers will darken the map slightly so may look a shade darker than the final map viewed online.
BESPOKE SILHOUETTES
When a bespoke silhouette has been ordered, we are happy to send up to three proofs of the design. A "proof" is a digital image of what the final product will look like sent to the customer via a dropbox link on email. The first proof will be designed from a description or photo submitted to us by the customer. If any important details are left out of the initial submission and only stated once the first proof has been sent, this change will constitute as another proof. A "change" is considered a small alteration of the original description or photo, ie length of hair, person height, lightening windows or cropping out trees. Any changes must be sent and confirmed via email. We do not consider swapping the original photo as a "small alteration", this would require a whole new design which would incur an additional design fee to be paid. This charge is at the discretion of the designer based on how much time it will take to alter the silhouette, prices start at £15 for additional proofs.
If after three proofs you are still not happy with the bespoke silhouette design and would like a refund, we are able to offer a 75% refund of the original purchase price. This is to compensate for the design time already spent on creating a bespoke silhouette.
GLASS SPLASHBACKS
Our glass splashbacks are manufactured in Britain from 6mm low-iron toughened glass. They are heat-resistant, durable, wipeable, and come with a 10-year guarantee against fading and peeling under normal domestic usage conditions.
Customisation and Accuracy
We offer custom sizes, cut-outs, and hole placements as specified by the customer. Where splashbacks are supplied-only (i.e. not templated or installed by us), it is the customer's sole responsibility to ensure all provided measurements, cut-outs, hole placements, and specifications are accurate. We cannot be held liable for any miscalculations or incorrect measurements submitted by the customer.
Installation Requirements
Only the fixing materials supplied or recommended by us should be used to install the splashback. The use of alternative adhesives, fixings, or installation methods may compromise the integrity of the product and will void any guarantees or warranties.
Colour and Finish Disclaimer
Due to the nature of the glass manufacturing and printing processes, there may be slight variations in colour, tone, or finish between the digital design or sample and the final installed product. These minor differences do not constitute a fault or defect.
Templating and Installation Service
Customers can opt to use our professional templating and installation service. This service includes a site visit to take precise measurements and ensure a professional fit. Where this service is used, we accept full responsibility for the accuracy of the templated product.
Glass Properties
Toughened glass cannot be altered once manufactured. No additional cut-outs, trimming, or changes can be made to the glass after production. Any such attempt will likely cause breakage and is done entirely at the customer's risk.
Breakage and Damage
Splashbacks should be inspected upon delivery. Any damage or breakage must be reported to us within 48 hours of receipt. Claims made outside this window may not be accepted.
CANCELLATION OF BESPOKE PRODUCT(S)
In accordance with the Distance Selling and Online Trading Regulations ATLAS & I product(s), which have been made to the customers specifications, are exempt from standard cancellation rights.
By the individual nature of personalised products made to order, they cannot be re-sold and therefore we cannot accept returns.
Cancellations are offered subject to the discretion of ATLAS & I. In the event of an order cancellation, you (the customer) are entitled to an 80% refund if the material product has not yet been created or manufactured. 20% of the original cost will be retained for map licensing or administration costs already incurred.
Please contact us within 5 hours of placing your order if you wish to cancel; [email protected]
DELIVERY
Because of the personalised nature of our products it takes a few days to make your order, please be patient with us. Approximate delivery times are listed on every product page.
Please note the production time stated is approximate. Once your product is ready to be dispatched, it will be sent on a next day service.
If your delivery address is outside of the UK, you may have to pay import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. You must meet any additional charges for customs clearance. Please note, customs policies vary widely from country to country and are subject to change. We recommend you contact your local customs office for further information.
Please note international shipments may be subject to cross-border inspections by customs authorities. Any import duties are the responsibility of the recipient. Atlas & I is not liable for any import charges.
All risk in the Product(s) you order (including risk of loss and/or damage to the Product(s)) shall pass to you when they are delivered to the delivery address specified in your order.
We shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver Product(s) if the delay or failure is wholly or partly caused by circumstances beyond our control.
ORDER AMENDMENTS
Once an order is placed with Atlas & I you will receive a confirmation email containing the details of your order. These details must be checked and any order changes you would like to make must be submitted to us in writing within 12 hours.
Following your order confirmation you will recieve a proof email, we require this to be checked and approved before your order goes to production, unless the item is a set piece, where the map has been pre-defined.
We reserve the right to alter the map chosen for your product if the zoom level chosen will affect the clarity of the map and the overall look of the map printed onto the product chosen. If a map is chosen and viewed on a small screen sometimes the zoom level is not appropriate for the size of the final product. In these cases we will adjust the map zoom level to suit the product. Where the map chosen by a customer is too zoomed out and we need to zoom into the map and crop out some areas we will send a revised proof to the customer to check that certain areas are not cropped off the map. These changes are to preserve the quality of the reproduced map to create a product of the highest quality that reflects our brand aesthetic.
Where a customer requests changes to the artwork proof that either constitute bespoke work, or, materialisically change the map style/location then we reserve the right to charge an additional artworking fee to cover the additional time spent re-working the customers order. The price of this will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
